Peter Duggan, Ph.D. Clinical Psychologist
Hello
You may be seeing signs of Autism Spectrum Disorder in your child, and likely have questions. I can help you find answers. An autism assessment is invaluable for learning more about ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) and determining the next steps to take. Early identification of ASD through accurate assessment enables planning for educational and social support that focuses on your child’s unique needs.

Meet Dr. Duggan
I am Peter Duggan, Ph.D., a clinical psychologist with over 25 years of experience working with children and their families to navigate developmental and mental health challenges. My primary focus of work is School Psychology, specifically Autism Spectrum Disorder and related behavioral conditions.
Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of helping families in a wide range of environments including schools, non-profit health agencies, and commercial health practices, in Montgomery County, Bucks County, Delaware County, and Philadelphia County, PA. From my extensive practical experience, and specialized education, I have developed a proficiency in the area of autism and developmental disorders, and maintained expertise in autism assessment. I earned a bachelor degree in science from John Carroll University, followed by a doctorate degree in psychology from Ball State University,
In addition to providing mental and behavioral health support in my profession, I spend much of my time volunteering as a coach and mentor with several youth athletic organizations. As a former college athlete, I love playing sports. As a health and education professional, I love helping kids grow while playing sports. These roles, combined with that of being a parent myself, give me the perspective to help families find the answers they need to create successful paths forward for their children.
What to expect with an Autism Evaluation
Thorough Intake
After our initial consultation, I will schedule a meeting with you to gather information about your child’s development and current behaviors. This input, along with my direct observation throughout the assessment, will help create a detailed picture of your child’s unique situation.
Gold-standard Measurements
Based on your child’s unique needs, I will administer ASD-specific assessment tools for testing. Most often, this will include the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule, Second Edition (ADOS-2).
Clear & Accurate Diagnosis
After reviewing your child’s developmental history, observed behaviors and test results, I will prepare a comprehensive evaluation report, which we will review during our feedback meeting. If your child is diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder, I can help refer you to resources as your next steps.
A word about reasonable scheduling and costs . . .
I believe that navigating mental health should not be made more difficult by long delays in scheduling or prohibitively high costs. I am committed to helping families find answers within a reasonable timeframe, with affordable pricing. Although I do not accept insurance directly, you may be entitled to reimbursement from your insurance company depending on your plan’s benefits and the type of evaluation completed. I will provide you with a detailed invoice for this purpose.
